About the Role:

Pogue Construction is seeking an experienced and driven Vice President of Business Development to lead our growth in the private construction sector. This leadership role is perfect for a strategic thinker with deep experience in sales, marketing, and client development—ideally within the construction industry.

You’ll play a critical role in expanding our client base, building strong relationships, identifying new opportunities, and leading a high-performing business development team. If you’re passionate about building strong partnerships and driving long-term success, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing:

🌟 Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and lead our private sector business development strategy
  • Mentor and manage the BD team to meet company growth goals
  • Identify market trends and new opportunities within private construction

Client Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, architects, and other industry stakeholders
  • Represent the company at high-level meetings, events, and conferences
  • Negotiate and close key contracts with private sector clients

Market Intelligence

  • Conduct in-depth market and competitor research
  • Use insights and analytics to guide strategy and improve sales performance

Proposal & Bid Management

  • Oversee creation of proposals, presentations, and bids for private projects
  • Collaborate with estimators and project managers to align with client needs

Revenue Growth

  • Track pipelines, forecasts, and key performance indicators
  • Ensure profitability in all private construction projects

Brand Representation

  • Promote Pogue Construction’s brand at trade shows and industry events
  • Act as a key spokesperson for our private project capabilities

What We’re Looking For:

✅ Required Experience & Education

  • 10+ years in business development, sales, marketing, or communications
  • Experience in the construction industry strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Marketing, or related field

Skills & Qualities

Exceptional communication and leadership skills

Strategic mindset with a detail-oriented, results-driven approach

Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Comfortable managing multiple high-priority projects

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
